Concrete Tile Trends We Love

Posted on Mar 04, 2016 in

We love materials that create unique and modern spaces and one of those is concrete! Spring Creek Design has used concrete for countertops in many of our remodeling projects to create truly one-of-a-kind countertops in bars, bathrooms and kitchens. And recently, we’ve seen some fantastic concrete tiles that we’d love to get our hands on and incorporate into a space for one of our clients. Here’s a peek at some the best trends out there for modern design right now.

  1. Dimensional concrete tile. This might be our favorite of all three simply due to the great shapes, dimension, color and visual interest it can bring to a space. Plus you can use it both indoors and out - we can envision it in a kitchen or an outdoor living space. If you are looking for something that will really draw you in, this is it. You and your guests will want to stop and touch the two and three-dimensional designs.

  2. Geometric concrete tile. Organic and decorative shapes in a repeat pattern look modern yet also classic. What’s especially cool is that you aren’t limited to specific sizes or colors as you customize the tiles to suit your specific space and design vision. A geometric concrete tile would make a gorgeous floor in a kitchen or a cool interest wall in a bar or bathroom.

  3. Encaustic tile. These vibrantly colored tiles have been around for ages, but have started to soar in popularity and really add Old World or European feel to a kitchen or bathroom floor. What’s different about encaustic tile is how it’s made. The pattern you see if made from individual colors of clay that is poured into a mold and then fired. The pattern is inlaid into the tile and will maintain its pattern even as it wears.
